I’m dreaming…

Growing up in Portland, you practically lettered in swim team, just by making it from the house to the car without drowning in the downpour, I used to dream of a white Christmas! It was the absolute best if we saw even a little flurry on or around Christmas day. One year, at our annual neighborhood Christmas party, I asked Santa for snow…and as I slid down off of his lap, my mom lead me to the window and showed me that my wish had come true…and it was, indeed, snowing. Even the adults in the room believed that night…

Now, I live in a much colder climate and I dread…I mean dread winter and all that snow.

Tonight through tomorrow we’re supposed to have a HUGE storm dumping tons of it and all I can think about is what an inconvenience it’s going to be…but there’s a tiny, little part of me that remembers the excitement of snow…

I plan to put my very favorite Christmas movie on in the background as I work today (though I’ve already watched it twice this year), in hopes that it will bring back some of that childhood wonder I’ve lost over the years…

Here’s to dreaming of a White Christmas!
